This type of bar is associated with the city of Aleppo, Syria where it has been made for centuries. It’s commonly known as, wait for it… Aleppo Soap! Although the base is Olive Oil, the rich color and distinct scent come from Laurel Berry Oil.
People often say that the traditional Aleppo scent is similar to freshly sharpened #2 pencils or a campfire. I added a splash of lavender and clary sage essential oil to add a modern jazzy twist to the ancient fragrance profile.
